Craps is the name of a very popular dice game that is available at many casinos, both online and offline. The game of craps is said to have originated from a game played in England called Hazard. The person responsible for this migration is thought to be one Bernard Xavier Philippe de Marigny de Mandeville, who was a famous politician and gambler. The game then took roots in the African-American community, going by the French name of Crapaud or Toad. The credit for the game’s popularity and the widespread appeal of the game goes to this community.

Tools used for Playing Craps

Craps is played by using a pair of dice and is played on a special table that is designed for the game. The dice that are used are manufactured in strict accordance to many stringent measures to ensure that they are not biased in any way. It is for this reason that when playing at a land based casino, the dice in use must be replaced every eight hours, although some casinos prefer a time period of 5 or 6 hours, depending on the popularity of the game. The dice also undergo periodic inspections to ensure that they have not been damaged in any way. There are also rules that apply to the handling of dice, which the player must follow or otherwise face the possibility of being disqualified.
